Scott Vandenburg, MA, MBA, LPC, LCDC — Executive Director
Scott has been a dedicated member of the Origins team since 2014, and in his current role, oversees all programs in Texas. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist, and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Scott is passionate about both 12-Step philosophies and the treatment model of Origins, as these principles have been an integral part of his personal recovery from addiction and alcoholism.
From Boise State University, Scott holds both a bachelor’s in sociology and an MBA. From Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies, he holds a master’s in addiction studies. Working in treatment is a departure from his previous career. Still, Scott is convinced that helping others recover from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body is his ultimate purpose in life.
Geri Richardson, MD — Medical Director
Dr. Richardson is the Medical Director for Restored Path Detox. Dr. Richardson is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology who has been in practice for over 25 years. After earning her undergraduate degree in Biology from Rice University, Dr. Richardson achieved her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Southwestern. Her adult residency and child fellowship were completed at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital. Prior to joining the Origins family, she most recently served as Medical Director of Behavioral Health for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, HCSC. Dr. Richardson has had the distinction of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 1995.
Amber Wrye, LPC, LCDC, EMDR II — Clinical Director
Amber is a compassionate therapist and leader with extensive experience in clinical counseling management. Amber earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in counseling from the University of North Texas and is completing her Ph.D. in organizational leadership at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Amber is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), and a Level Two Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR II) therapist. An avid volunteer, she’s also a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, the Institute of Organizational Mindfulness, and The Chicago School Professional Psychology Consulting Club doing pro bono consulting for nonprofits.
Erica Boyce — Director of Recovery Care
Erica Boyce is a nationally and state Certified Recovery Specialist and Interventionist. She has been trained through Spectrum Recovery as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist and has gone through training with the International Recovery Institute as a Certified Recovery Specialist. She has been trained in A Relational Intervention Sequence for Engagement (the ARISE® Intervention) with Dr. Judith Landau and the Love First Intervention model. She has completed training through the Addictions Academy as a Level I & II Recovery Specialist. Along with her certifications as a Recovery Specialist, she is also CPR certified with the American Red Cross.
Erica is an active member of the Dallas TAAP organization and a proud member of NAADAC. She believes in helping those who suffer with drug addiction and alcoholism gain a new life and become productive. Erica’s experience and knowledge helps families understand they cannot fight this disease alone. By working together, they can help their loved one live a life of freedom.
Casey Mckeown — Alumni Services Coordinator
Casey is passionate about recovery through the 12-Steps. She graduated from The University of Wyoming with a bachelor’s in psychology and a minor in sociology. Because she struggled with mental health and addiction, Casey brings a valuable ability to meet patients where they are. Before becoming an Alumni Care Coordinator, she managed a sober living home. Her experience gives the patients at Restored Path Detox a unique view of aftercare options. In her free time, Casey enjoys spending time with friends and her dog.
